Eagle Iron Works Launches The Pelican Bucket Wheel

October 9, 2026

For more than 150 years, Eagle Iron Works has offered customers reliable, easy-to-operate equipment to handle washing and classifying applications. Eagle Iron Works is excited to expand their product line and announce the launch of the Pelican Bucket Wheel. With this new product, EIW’s end-to-end washing equipment line covers the range for handling any water volume to offer the best solution to customers.

The Pelican Bucket Wheel is designed primarily for dewatering and can help producers achieve a moisture content somewhere between a dewatering cyclone and fine material washer. The Pelican is ideal for high water volume applications, especially from a dredge. Additionally, the Pelican Bucket Wheel can be used as a free-settling classifier where the bucket mechanism is used to remove solids.

Feed enters the sump part of the Bucket Wheel behind the baffle plate to minimize turbulence in the pool area. Material settles at the bottom of the sump-like structure. As the wheel spins, the cutting edge of the bucket digs into the sand to gather material into the dewatering buckets. Water drains through siphon tubes as sand builds up on the screen media inside the buckets. The dewatered sand discharges out the other side.

The Pelican Bucket Wheel is available in single and double configurations with 28” or 36” buckets. The capacity ranges from 350 TPH to 1060 TPH.

The Pelican can handle large fluctuations of solids and high amounts of water. The auxiliary discharge outlet helps to remove the near-sized material and allow producers to potentially make a second product. The Pelican Bucket Wheel can be easily integrated with a wide variety of process equipment or be part of a larger system.

“For more than 150 years, EIW has focused on building reliable equipment that helps producers maximize performance and productivity. The Pelican Bucket Wheel expands our product offering by providing an efficient dewatering solution capable of handling large fluctuations in solids and high volumes of water. This addition allows us to cover the full range of water handling applications, ensuring we can deliver the best solution for each customer's unique operation,” said Tim Miller, Global Sales Director – EIW.
